Will someone pick me up at airport when I arrive?

Do I get Medical Insurance?
Yes, 90% of schools enroll their teachers in the
national medical program.
Does my medical insurance kick in right away?
No, it doesn’t start until after on gets their Alien Registration Card (ARC). Every teacher should get some health insurance for their first 3 weeks in Korea until their Korean plan is activated. Everyone should get a Health booklet so make sure to request this from your director to ensure they enrolled you. Sometimes directors forget to do this.
How long does the visa process take?
The first step is in the
visa process
is collecting all the required visa documents. Only then really can an applicant commit to a position. Once an applicant secures a position they need to mail all the required documentation to Korea. Typically it takes 4-5 weeks after one sends their documents express mail to Korea. The document collection period before that is what usually delays one getting to Korea and can take anywhere from 1-5 weeks.
